Preacher Itinerary Information Released

The 51st Quadrennial Session of the General Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal Church will feature the church in worship and at work July 6 – 10, 2021, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. Bishop John Franklin White, Chair of the General Conference Commission and Bishop Vashti Murphy McKenzie, chair of the Program Committee are delighted to announce the preachers for this gathering of the Connectional Church.

The proclaimers of the Gospel include Senior Bishop Adam J. Richardson, Presiding Bishop of the 11th Episcopal District; Bishop Vashti Murphy McKenzie, Presiding Bishop of the 10th Episcopal District; Bishop Wilfred J. Messiah, Presiding Bishop of the 17th Episcopal District; Bishop James L. Davis, Presiding Bishop of the 2nd Episcopal District; and Bishop Samuel L. Green, Sr., Presiding Bishop of the 7th Episcopal District.

Bishop Gregory G.M. Ingram, Presiding Bishop of the 1st Episcopal District, will present the Episcopal Address to set the tone for the General Conference.

The Morning Manna preachers include the Reverend Robert and the Reverend Ann Champion Shaw, Bethel AME Church, San Francisco, California; the Reverend Dr. Susan H. Buckson, Allen Temple AME Church, Atlanta, Georgia; the Reverend Zwelile Shivas Thwala, Collins Tabernacle AME Church, Swaziland; the Reverend Cindy C. Rudolph, Oak Grove AME Church, Detroit, Michigan; and the Reverend Matthew L. Watley, Kingdom Fellowship AME Church, Silver Springs, Maryland.

Our Christian Education leaders for the Intergenerational Bible Discovery Hour are Reverend Dr. Shively T. Jackson Smith, Assistant Professor of New Testament, Boston University School of Theology and the Reverend Samuel L. Green, Jr., 7th Episcopal District Director of Christian Education.

Gospel artist J.J. Hairston will kick-off our HBCU Night, as we highlight 13 AME universities, colleges and seminaries. Dr. Teresa L. Fry-Brown, Historiographer and Executive Director, Department of Research and Scholarship will share historical highlights of AME education and Dr. Michael Sorrell, President of Paul Quinn College, will share a presentation on the Impact of AME HBCU Schools.
